The Beirne B. Carter Immunology Center (CIC) at the University of Virginia’s (UVA) School of Medicine is seeking a Research Associate (Postdoctoral scholar) to join the Anderson Lab. This position offers an opportunity to advance knowledge, learn practical lab-based skills, gain research experience, and participate in exciting science for a highly motivated individual. Research in the Anderson Lab focuses on engineering novel T cell-based immunotherapies to overcome immune suppression in solid tumors and developing novel pre-clinical models for ovarian cancer research. The Research Associate will participate in various lab projects, contribute to writing study reports, papers, and grant applications, and is expected to develop research programs as time permits. The role involves attending laboratory meetings, seminars, and collaborating with other researchers. Opportunities to develop personnel and project management skills, and to form a mentoring committee are available. Eligibility for National Institutes of Health (NIH) post-doctoral fellowship funding is helpful but not mandatory.
