About The Position

The Hubbell Lab at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Full time Research Associate to work with preclinical experimentation and animal modeling. The Hubbell lab is known for extensive bioengineering and biomaterials for immunomodulation with a keen eye on translation into clinical settings.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated background in mouse rearing and treatments as exemplified by a strong publication record and/or references
  • Previous experience in animal injections, sampling, husbandry, and general care is necessary
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • At least 1 year of experience or 3+ years’ experience in Immunology, Bio- or Biomedical Engineering, Biology or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • Aseptic surgical experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Administering injections (intravenous [tail vein], intraperitoneal, and subcutaneous)
  • Routine sampling (blood collection via submandibular or submental puncture)
  • Mouse colony management and husbandry (including breeding and separation of cages)
  • Scoring various autoimmune models (paralysis and arthritis)
  • Necropsy and organ harvest
