About The Position

Conducts research on phytoplankton trace metal requirements, Cu-Fe interactions, Cu uptake and reduction. Develops protocols required to assess the impact of Cu on cell physiological state. Analyzes data and interprets results. Writes manuscripts and presents the research results at scientific meetings. Supervises and trains undergraduate researchers working in the lab.

Requirements

  • Phytoplankton physiological ecology.
  • Trace metal chemistry of seawater, thermodynamic and kinetics of Cu chemical reactions, photophysiology, biochemistry, q-PCR.
  • PhD in biological oceanography.
  • Prior research on phytoplankton trace metal interactions.
