About The Position

The research associate carries out experiments as part of a team of bio-medical researchers to investigate the molecular mechanisms mediating diseases. They will also record and analyze experimental results and collaborate effectively with other team members.

Requirements

Demonstrated academic and/or hands-on experience in viral immunology and vaccine research
Extensive experience working with murine (mouse) models, including handling and in vivo experimental procedures
Strong understanding of immunological assays and experimental design in infectious disease or related fields
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on experimental needs, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends/holidays
Ph.D. or M.D. Required.

Responsibilities

Maintains a lab database of technical and animal protocols, plasmids, antibodies and other key resources.
Keeps accurate records of reagents.
Troubleshoots experimental design malfunctions and implements solutions, interfaces directly with equipment manufacturers for adjustments and repairs.
Instructs research personnel on specialized techniques and complex protocols; coordinates and participates in intra-collegial presentations and meetings.
Trains and mentors research personnel.
Analyzes results of experiments independently.
Develops scientific hypotheses related to ongoing work in the laboratory.
