About The Position

Led by Dr. Phillips, our lab at WPH Department of Psychiatry, is comprised of a talented group of psychiatry faculty, postdoctoral associates, students, and staff, specializing in multimodal imaging and interventional studies across a range of psychiatric disorders including mood, substance and anxiety disorders. We are adding a Research Associate Sr WPIC, to our lab to assist with multiple active studies. The Research Associate Sr WPIC will assist with ketogenic trial management, recruitment and clinical evaluations. The Research Associate Sr WPIC will coordinate recruitment activities and diagnostic evaluations for our PEAR study investigating the role of daily social experiences, pain and mood changes in adolescents 14 – 18 years old. The Research Associate Sr WPIC will also conduct blood draw and MRI visits in our current clinical trial investigating the ketogenic diet in adults with bipolar disorder. This position is grant funded.

Requirements

Masters degree required preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, sociology, or related research field.
Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.

Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage day to day coordination of participants in conjunction with senior staff.
Recruit and evaluate participants
Manage contact with study participants, conducting assessments, tracking protocol compliance and adherence, follow the mandatory reporting procedures for any deviations or adverse events.
Assist with general research activities related to participant flow and scheduling, participant communication and engagement
Participate in structured training and ongoing supervision
Contribute to a collaborative team advancing clinical and research applications in psychiatry, maintain protocol standards and ensure safety
Label and ship blood specimens obtained from research participants
Work independently, must be able to work a flexible schedule based on study needs.
Interact and effectively communicate with study participants, research, clinical, administrative staff and investigators
Ability to assess potential emergencies in collaboration with senior personnel, take appropriate action.
