The University of New Mexico is seeking a Research Associate Professor of Neurology. This position involves a combination of research and administrative duties. The annual departmental expectations for basic science research faculty include submitting unique manuscripts to peer-reviewed publications, presenting at conferences, maintaining extramural funded grants, and engaging in activities to supplement salary support. The initial effort distribution for the first year is 0.5 FTE Research and 0.5 FTE Administrative. The research component includes 0.2 FTE funded by ADRC as Imaging Core Leader and 0.3 FTE from grant funding where the individual is the PI. The administrative component involves serving as the Brain Imaging Research Center (BIRC) Director, funded by the HSC Office of Research. In two years, the salary support for the BIRC Director will be reduced, increasing the Research FTE to 0.8, pending funding and other potential duties.
