About The Position

Be part of our innovative Personal Care R&D team and play a hands-on role in developing next-generation ingredients that help shape the products consumers use every day. As an R&D Laboratory Technician, you will collaborate closely with synthetic chemists and material scientists to support the design, development, and evaluation of cutting-edge personal care technologies. In this role, you will perform a variety of laboratory activities, including organic synthesis, sample preparation, analytical testing, and material characterization. You will leverage both instrumental and wet chemistry techniques to evaluate the chemical and physical properties of new materials, helping drive research projects from concept through development. This is an excellent opportunity for a laboratory professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contributing directly to product innovation. Please note that this role requires on-site presence five days per week, Monday through Friday. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or Engineering
  • 1-3+ years of experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Working knowledge of organic chemistry with the ability to carry out synthetic experiments.
  • Working knowledge of standard personal computer applications (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, etc.)
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of technical curiosity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with analytical and characterization techniques, including rheology, tribology, particle size analysis, or similar instrumental methods
  • Basic knowledge of cosmetic and personal care ingredients.
  • Highly detail-oriented and analytical.
  • Proven technical problem-solving ability.
  • Effective technical writing skills with experience preparing laboratory documentation, reports, and protocols.
  • Capable of operating complex instrumentation with limited supervision.
  • Experience in maintaining and repairing lab equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision, conduct synthesis experiments for new polymers in glassware or metal reactors.
  • Prepare chemical samples and perform instrumental testing according to established guidelines.
  • Generate and record appropriate data, perform calculations, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Effective management of multiple tasks as per priority laid by scientists.
  • Maintain a safety mindset and focus.
  • Contribute to the development of new materials for the Beauty Personal Care segment
  • Contribute to the safety teams and aid in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Purchase chemicals and lab disposables.
  • Make sure the chemical inventory is up to date.
  • Receive packages and ship samples.
  • Complete routine instrument cleaning and maintenance and contact vendor when repair is needed.
  • Responsible for daily housekeeping, organization, and lab safety.
  • Completes other duties as assigned
