About The Position

Frontier Medicines is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate II to join the In Vivo Phamacology group. This role combines hands-on in vivo pharmacology work in our South San Francisco vivarium with translational research responsibilities. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced drug-discovery environment, contributing to both internal preclinical studies and translational medicine activities.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in a biological science (e.g., animal science, pharmacology, cellular biology, biomedical sciences, or related discipline).
  • At least 2–4 years of relevant experience in pharma/biotech, including in vivo pharmacology and/or translational medicine settings.
  • Experience in cancer biology, oncology drug discovery project teams, rodent cancer model development, and drug testing.
  • Experience with in vivo techniques, including dosing, blood collection, and model development.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and thrive in a dynamic start-up environment.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and follow directions precisely.
  • A commitment to excellence, high-quality science, and a professional working environment.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Execute in vivo experiments to evaluate the efficacy and PKPDTE relationship of novel compounds across multiple programs.
  • Conduct murine-based tumor model studies, including animal handling, dosing via multiple routes, and health monitoring.
  • Perform mouse necropsies, tissue harvest, blood collection, and sample processing for downstream analysis.
  • Formulate and prepare test substances for in vivo administration.
  • Maintain sample inventory and coordinate sample shipment to designated internal and external teams.
  • Ensure animal welfare and maintain compliance with IACUC, GLP, and non-GLP policies through detailed electronic laboratory notebook documenting.
  • Maintain a clear, detailed electronic laboratory notebook to document all experiments and findings.
  • Manage mouse tumor model activities at CROs and through external collaborations.
  • Design, coordinate, and conduct in vivo mouse tumor model studies in collaboration with the Translational Medicine team.
  • Manage and support in vivo studies across multiple programs concurrently.
  • Perform data analysis and prepare presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues, collaborators, and stakeholders; engage in the science beyond the experimental objective.
