About The Position

Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute is searching for a Research Associate I to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. We are seeking creative and upbeat Research Associate I that will assist in the development and execution of research projects including experiment design, analysis of data collected and writing up experiment results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-3 Years of Data Collection and Analysis Experience
  • 1-3 Years of Research Experience
  • 1-3 Years of Research Lab Experience
  • 1-3 Years of Research Methodology Experience
  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Strong Problem-Solving and Reasoning Skills
  • OSHA Hazardous Materials Safety Training

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with faculty, graduate students, and research staff.
  • Conduct original research and help develop new methods.
  • Contribute to the execution of a sponsored research project.
  • Design, execute, and document experimental evaluations to validate model performance.
  • Identifies problems and obstacles to progress; develops strategies to solve problems.
  • Implement and code research ideas for new papers.
  • May program software in support of job functions.
  • Attends project meetings.
  • Perform related technical support for the engineering team in Matt lab.
  • Performs research experiments following experimental protocol and procedures.
  • Researches and documents information by compiling and maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Run baselines, experiments, and evaluations.
  • Summarizes statistical information for analysis, examination or presentation; writes technical reports.
  • May build and validate quantitative models.
  • Uses a variety of software packages to input, manipulate, collect and record results or observations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
