The Merchant Lab seeks a Research Associate with an interest in cancer biology and tumor immunology. The lab uses mouse models to examine tumor immunology, with correlation to human patient samples. The work is part of an NIH-funded project investigating resistance of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) to chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and examining the utility of CAR T-cells in NHL treatment. Findings will be used to design clinical trials aimed at improving outcomes for patients with NHL. Research into the tumor microenvironment uses high-dimensional flow cytometry, single-cell RNA sequencing, and imaging mass cytometry. Imaging mass cytometry enables highly multiplexed imaging of immune and tumor cells with spatial information and subcellular resolution. It can be applied to multiple tissue types, including cell lines, organoids, frozen sections, and FFPE-fixed archival tissue. The Research Associate will work with a diverse team of Research Associates, medical doctors, residents, graduate students, and postdoctoral students. The role offers opportunities to present data at weekly lab meetings and national scientific meetings, contribute to papers, and attend national scientific meetings. This position is designed to be 100% onsite; hybrid and remote work are not available.
