About The Position

BioLegend is seeking a motivated individual to support immunoassay product development and manufacturing within the Biomarker Immunoassay Group. The Research Associate will participate in multiple aspects of the product development process, including experimental design, assay initiation and testing, troubleshooting, manufacturing support, technology transfer, and product launch activities. More specifically, the individual will work closely with experienced scientists to manage customer-facing documentation, support the initial production of new panel lots, facilitate technology transfer and process improvements, respond to customer product inquiries, and assist with pilot studies and special product releases. These immunoassay products enable the simultaneous detection of up to 18 important biomarkers associated with inflammatory diseases, stem cells, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative diseases, providing valuable tools for the biomedical research community. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced biotechnology industry environment. The individual will be expected to manage assigned functions and tasks with strong communication skills and increasing independence after appropriate training.

Requirements

  • BS in a Biology, Chemistry or other related field

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year of hands-on experience with immunoassays or other functional assays
  • Working experience in manufacturing or product development setting in compliance with ISO14835 standards

Responsibilities

  • Under proper supervision, execute the following development tasks: evaluated antibodies, proteins and screening antibody pairs.
  • Optimize assay conditions, trouble shooting and design relative biological experiments to validate the utility of the new products
  • Document development activity and production records following SOPs and design plans.
  • Develop new products under ISO13485:2016
  • Work with manufacture and QC group to ensure proper production transfer and QC
  • Support manufacturing and QC, assist in trouble-shooting and raw material qualification
  • Assist with customer support by performing trouble-shooting experiments when needed.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Actively participating in lab meetings and present data.
  • Contribute to scientific discussions and collaborations
