About The Position

The Research Associate I performs varying standardized laboratory assignments and experiments. This role involves setting up and conducting experiments, preparing biological assays, and performing quantitative and qualitative analysis under direct supervision. The position requires maintaining detailed records of tests and data, assisting with data compilation and preliminary analysis, and operating/maintaining laboratory equipment. Specific duties include conducting cell culture, exosome analysis, protein chemistry, histological staining, nucleic acid isolation, and organ-on-a-chip experiments. The role also involves assisting with data interpretation, contributing to lab meetings, and adhering to internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Performs standard research assignments involving a series of related operations.
  • Sets up and conducts standard research experiments following detailed technical instructions.
  • Prepares biological assays and conducts basic quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Maintains records of all tests performed and data collected.
  • Assists in the compilation and tabulation of data and provides preliminary analysis.
  • Assembles, calibrates, operates and makes minor modifications to a variety of laboratory equipment as defined by appropriate guidelines.
  • Conducting cell culture experiments, exosome analysis, and exosome-based studies.
  • Performing protein chemistry analysis, including western blots.
  • Conducting histological staining and imaging.
  • Isolating nucleic acid for downstream molecular analysis.
  • Performing organ-on-a-chip experiments and assisting with chip making.
  • Assisting with data analysis and interpretation.
  • Contributing to lab meetings and discussions.
  • Adheres to internal controls established by department.
  • Performs related duties as required.
