About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking a postdoctoral candidate to work in the Clinical Data Science Program within the Kern Center. This role focuses on health care policy and cutting-edge research to design, develop, and test strategies that transform patient care and outcomes. The Research Associate position is a temporary transitional role designed to prepare individuals for an academic and/or independent research career. The role involves working within an established investigator's program, providing leadership support, and potentially training. Direct patient/research subject contact may occur after background check and committee approval, directly related to the research program.

Requirements

PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or similar is required.
Strong interest in clinical applications of data science and solutions into Clinical Workflow.
Demonstration of excellent writing and communication skills via publications and presentations.
Possess a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program.

Responsibilities

Lead projects in health service research (HSR) with a primary focus on health care policy.
Design, develop, and test strategies to transform patient care and outcomes.
Conduct research that may be interchangeable with Epidemiology within the Department of Quantitative Health Sciences.
Provide leadership support and training within an established research program.
Perform specialized or complex functions, demonstrated through scientific accomplishments, contributions, and peer-reviewed publications (averaging at least one per year post-doctoral degree).
