We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to support our in vitro biology research activities. The successful candidate will perform cell culture, in vitro assays, and biochemical analyses to support our pipeline. This role involves hands-on laboratory work in our Manhattan labs, data collection, and collaboration with team members to advance research objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline, with 0–2+ years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and basic in vitro assay techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to follow protocols, learn new techniques, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel; experience with GraphPad Prism or FlowJo is a plus).
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with flow cytometry, ELISA, and molecular biology techniques is highly desirable.
- Internship or industry research experience in a laboratory setting.
- Exposure to immunology or cell-based assays.
- Knowledge of assay validation and high-throughput screening.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and culture mammalian cell and tissue lines, ensuring optimal growth and health.
- Perform routine in vitro assays including cell-based functional assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, and basic molecular biology techniques.
- Assist with isolation and handling of human PBMCs for functional immune assays, including activation, proliferation, and cytokine analysis.
- Execute established assays for target engagement and compound evaluation following standard protocols.
- Prepare and standardize solutions, buffers, and reagents necessary for experiments.
- Support experiment execution, including following protocols and assisting with troubleshooting.
- Collect and record experimental data; assist in data analysis and summary preparation.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, including electronic lab notebooks and sample inventories.
- Ensure laboratory compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Support laboratory maintenance, equipment calibration, and inventory management.
