About The Position

As a Research Associate on the Analytical Services team, you will execute analytical techniques in support of method validation for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing. The role involves designing and conducting laboratory-scale experiments, authoring method-validation documentation, maintaining accurate experimental records, and operating and maintaining laboratory equipment. Work must follow applicable ICH guidelines, internal standard operating procedures (SOPs), and current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), as appropriate.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent in chemistry or a related applied science field.
A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Experience following SOPs for analytical method execution, such as HPLC/UPLC.

Nice To Haves

Experience with IC, GC, GC-MS, UV, or Karl Fischer.
Experience working in a cGMP-regulated environment.
Knowledge of analytical test methods used to test oligonucleotide APIs or related molecules.
Experience with method validation.
Ability to work with interdisciplinary project teams, understand project requirements, and follow project timelines.

Responsibilities

Design and conduct laboratory-scale experiments using analytical instrument platforms such as HPLC/UPLC, HPLC-MS, ICP-MS, IC, GC, GC-MS, UV, and Karl Fischer.
Author method-validation protocols and reports in accordance with ICH guidelines and internal Agilent SOPs.
Design and safely conduct laboratory-scale experiments using current best practices for API testing.
Record and summarize experiments in notebooks and reports, and prepare research summaries for internal teams.
Maintain process compliance by adhering to SOPs and cGMP, as appropriate.
Operate laboratory equipment according to operating instructions; troubleshoot instrumentation and method issues; and perform routine preventative maintenance.
