About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Psychiatry has an exciting opportunity for a full time Research Associate 1 to work in Miami, FL. This role involves understanding and interpreting research protocols, participating in the publication of significant results, and maintaining an overview of relevant research findings. The Research Associate ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice and stays abreast of current publications related to methods, techniques, and developments in their research area. Key duties include collecting, preparing, analyzing, dissecting, and evaluating specimens or tissue cultures, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and performing a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies. The position also requires performing calculations for research test results, collecting data, and performing statistical analysis. The role adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Department Specific Functions include interpreting research protocols and procedures, ensuring research activities comply with good research practices, ethical guidelines, and regulatory standards, collecting and documenting biomarker data, and performing neuropsychological batteries as directed by research protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • No prior experience
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

  • Collect, prepare, and document biomarker data as for research purposes.
  • Perform a variety of neuropsychological batteries as directed by research protocols.
