The Center on Tobacco Control Research & Policy within the Department of Public Health Sciences and the Cancer Prevention and Control Program at the University of Virginia Cancer Center is hiring two Research Assistants. The Research Assistants will support several community-based research projects that target tobacco prevention and control cancer initiatives across a range of populations including youth, rural populations, military populations and pregnant women. These positions are based at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA working closely with Dr. Melissa A. Little and other faculty members within the Center on Tobacco Control Research & Policy. The successful applicant(s) will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects including several National Institutes of Health (NIH) and foundation grants. Most projects are intervention-based, including individually based telephone counseling, classroom-based interventions and text-messaging interventions. Candidates will be given the opportunity to contribute to study implementation, data analyses and manuscript writing.
