Research Assistant
About The Position
This is a Research Assistant position for the 2026 Spring/Summer Semester at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Sociology and Anthropology. The position is classified as a Research Assistant (CUPE) and is a research-focused role. The work start date is June 15, 2026, and the end date is August 15, 2026, with a total of 64 work hours. The hourly rate is $31.89 for undergraduate students and $50.25 for graduate students (2024-2025 rates), excluding vacation and statutory pay. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The language of work is English and French. Requirements
- Must be a senior undergraduate student (3rd year or above, or currently graduating) at the University of Ottawa
- Preferably in one of the following programs: anthropology, sociology, interdisciplinary studies, psychology
- Must be familiar or have strong interests in research on social inequalities and African or diasporic contexts
- Native or bilingual fluency (C2) in both English and French is mandatory
- Demonstrated experience utilizing remote collaborative platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Outlook)
- Demonstrated experience managing independent workloads
