About The Position
The Price Institute of Surgical Research has an immediate opening for a Temporary Research Assistant studying colorectal cancer and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Under general supervision, the successful candidate will assist research technicians and research fellows in carrying out a variety of routine and non-routine experiments at a professional level.
Requirements
- Three or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work with a highly interactive group.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of science.
Responsibilities
- Aid in performing moderate routine and non-routine experiments, which may include RNA and protein extractions, PCR, and other basic biochemical tests.
- Help transcribe and analyze data.
- May assist with maintaining long-term tissue cultures of rodent or human cell lines and monitor cells for viability and contamination.
- Perform basic literature searches and help prepare presentations and written articles for publication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
