About The Position

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or designee, the Research Assistant is responsible for performing delegated tasks in support of research projects. This role involves working with national professional healthcare and educational/consulting organizations to examine technology affordance, long-term cost-effectiveness, adoption, and scalability of models. The assistant will investigate the integration of technologies into healthcare systems and overcome barriers to adoption. Key tasks include assisting with survey design, qualitative tool development, IRB approval support, literature searches, conducting interviews, data preprocessing and analysis, model building, and summarizing research findings.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree related to operations management, health policy, or a related field.
  • Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Experience in developing statistical, simulation, and optimization models, preferably with at least one of the following modeling languages: Python, R, SAS, SPSS, Gurobi/AMPL or similar software.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong technology skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a national professional healthcare organization and educational/consulting organization to examine technology affordance, i.e., the extent to which professionals are implementing and finding benefit from technologies.
  • Explore the long-term cost-effectiveness, adoption, and scalability of models; investigate the integration of such technologies into broader healthcare systems and overcoming barriers to adoption.
  • Assist PI in development of survey design and qualitative protocol-specific tools to aid in data collection and study documentation.
  • Support completion of forms to obtain IRB approval.
  • Perform literature searches to identify data standards and requirements.
  • Conduct interviews and work with healthcare experts to obtain data.
  • Preprocess and analyze data as well as build models according to the methods needed, i.e., regression and optimization techniques.
  • Summarize research findings and prepare presentations.
  • Comply with established policies and maintain study subject confidentiality.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
