About The Position

The Research Assistant will assist team members in performing research activities using approved techniques. Conducts patient recruitment, consens participants, administers questionnaires, abstracts medical records, maintains patient databases, performs administrative tasks, performs literature searches and participates with the research team in preparation of data and other reports. May also assist the principal investigator with interpreting experimental results, and in preparing and writing manuscripts.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
• Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of social, racial and ethnic populations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers.
• Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/health sensitive information.
• Strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in clinical research.
• Public health experience.
• Working with patients with diverse backgrounds.
• Previous experience with recruiting participants.
• Understanding of the ethical and technical conduct of research.
• Bilingual candidate preferred, not required, fluent in spoken and written English, Spanish, and/or Haitian Creole.
• Experience with statistical software a plus.
