Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.
  • None (minimum experience).
  • Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
  • Must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in one or more of the following preferred: molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, cancer biology and/or mouse models.
  • Previous experiences with animal handling and cell culture are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research activities according to research protocol.
  • Perform traditional laboratory experiments and activities, screening, and/or animal laboratories.
  • Maintain clean laboratory equipment and work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Collect, evaluate, and interpret research data to provide information to principal investigators and other researchers.
  • Update notebooks, records, and databases as needed.
  • Stay abreast of new and updated protocols for the research department.
  • Order laboratory and other supplies as directed by senior research staff or principal investigators.
  • Coordinate the work of laboratory technicians and assistants to ensure efficient, timely, and high-quality results.
  • Comply with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Carry out experiments needed for research projects.
  • Breed and test transgenic mice.
  • Manage lab ordering and supply stocking.
