Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.
- None (minimum experience).
- Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
- Must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in one or more of the following preferred: molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, cancer biology and/or mouse models.
- Previous experiences with animal handling and cell culture are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research activities according to research protocol.
- Perform traditional laboratory experiments and activities, screening, and/or animal laboratories.
- Maintain clean laboratory equipment and work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Collect, evaluate, and interpret research data to provide information to principal investigators and other researchers.
- Update notebooks, records, and databases as needed.
- Stay abreast of new and updated protocols for the research department.
- Order laboratory and other supplies as directed by senior research staff or principal investigators.
- Coordinate the work of laboratory technicians and assistants to ensure efficient, timely, and high-quality results.
- Comply with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Carry out experiments needed for research projects.
- Breed and test transgenic mice.
- Manage lab ordering and supply stocking.
