About The Position

Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant in collaboration with the Emergency Department at Delray Medical Center. This is a non-student OPS position. The Research Assistant will join a multidisciplinary and multisite team testing a method to prevent fall injuries and improve safety among older individuals. Responsibilities include conducting in-person interviews, phone interviews, home visits, and follow-up surveys with participants. Duties involve enrolling patients in the emergency department, entering data into databases, and reviewing medical records. Some clinical research assistants may focus on administrative tasks like administering and tabulating surveys, organizing data, and obtaining records. They will also enroll, interact with, and collect data from study subjects seeking care in the emergency department. Clinical research assistants work under the supervision of the study coordinator and researchers, who are emergency physicians.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
  • Personal transportation is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills are preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Creole is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Screen, consent, and enroll subjects into the study.
  • Obtain and enter medical record information into a database and conduct telephone interviews with clinical subjects.
  • Participate in home visits with subjects within 30 minutes of Delray Medical Center.
  • Generate, update, and maintain study data, documentation, and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
