About The Position

Gain hands-on experience in ecological monitoring, plant growth research, experimental design, and data management while supporting an ongoing study in ecological restoration and plant demography. This position offers individualized training and occasional fieldwork across Wyoming, with an anticipated schedule of up to 20 hours per week that includes flexibility for time off. Individuals pursuing degrees or interests in botany, plant science, ecology, agriculture, environmental science, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Current UW student, or an individual who has already earned a bachelor's degree
  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP

Responsibilities

  • Growing and maintaining research plants in the greenhouse
  • Setting up and monitoring outdoor field plots in Laramie
  • Seedling production and soil prep
  • Collecting growth data
  • Maintaining digital spreadsheets
  • Participating in intermittent fieldwork across Wyoming
