About The Position

The UBC MS MRI Research Group conducts and supports multiple sclerosis (MS) research using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The group supports a large database of MRIs from multiple research studies across research centres and hospitals around the world and is interested in identifying biomarkers for MS clinical trials and treatment. The project involves working closely with faculty and staff and mainly involves data entry, data analysis, participant assessments, and quality control of MRI data for research studies.

Requirements

  • High school graduation and a minimum one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in quality control of MRI data for research studies
  • Assist in data entry of collected data into databases
  • Assist in reconciliation of different databases for research studies
  • Liaise with researchers and staff scientists as required
  • Complete documentation and records of data reviewed and approved
  • Attend research meetings to keep abreast of the projects in which other lab members (e.g. Research Coordinator, Database Developer, and Research Assistant) are involved, as well as update others on the status of the incumbent’s own work
  • Conduct participant assessments (scales, timed walking, 9 hole peg test)
  • Assist with other MS MRI analysis projects as necessary
