Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Mechanical Engineering is searching for a Research Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by assisting with the development of new materials and manufacturing techniques for wearable sensing technologies and such other tasks that are assigned to you.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Experience performing research on topics with soft materials engineering, printed electronics, soft robotics, and/or liquid metal.
  • Graduate level research experience on topics related to soft materials engineering, printed electronics, soft robotics, and/or liquid metal
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
  • Successful background check

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, synthesize, and characterize multifunctional inks capable for printed soft electronics and transducers.
  • Document research accomplishments and reporting work in a peer-reviewed journal.
  • Participate in research on novel multifunctional inks for printed electronics and sensing
  • Support design and implementation of device-level technologies that incorporate multifunctional inks.
