About The Position

The Warren Lab at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC is seeking a part-time Research Assistant to support general laboratory operations, collect data, and perform data analysis for the NIH-funded PERM1 project. This position will be conducting mouse colony management, molecular biology assessments, and data analysis from mouse studies. The successful candidate should be detail oriented and have experience performing data analysis in a research lab setting. They will be trained on raw data (chromatograms) and workflows aligned with the lab processes. They should also be flexible and enjoy a fast-paced research environment. This position also involves maintaining daily operations while in compliance with university and state regulations. Additional duties will include supply ordering/management, coordination of experiments, assistance with preparing presentation data, and contribution to lab meetings. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented person who enjoys interacting with others, being a key part of a diverse and active scientific environment, learning new techniques, and managing multiple project duties. Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent

• Must be able to sit or stand at a lab bench for extended periods of time

Nice To Haves

• Coursework or training in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related field
• Previous experience in a biomedical research laboratory
