About The Position

Students will be conducting summer research on the Structural Dynamic Properties of Membrane Protein KCNE3 project, specifically Experimental and Computational Structural Biology and Molecular Biophysics under the supervision of Dr. Indra D. Sahu (May 12- August 23). The objective is to obtain undergraduate research experience, get training in membrane protein research, use experimental molecular biology and computational approaches for research, contribute to understanding the structural dynamics of KCNE3 in membrane environments under NSF funding requirements, and submit the outcome of the research for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals in the Structural Biology and Molecular Biophysics field.

Requirements

  • Must be a CU Undergraduate student
  • Must be available for the majority of the summer if not all summer
  • Must have a Science background
  • Interested in gaining research experience in a STEM field

Responsibilities

  • Working in the lab on specified experimental and computational projects
  • Reading related research papers
  • Participating in discussions at research group meetings
  • Presenting the research outputs at Natural Science Division meetings and scientific conferences
  • Preparing manuscripts for publication
