About The Position

The Pan-Canadian initiative Linking Genomic, Environmental and Mental Health Data in Children and Youth (Pan-GEM) is seeking a part-time (0.75 FTE), contract (6 months, with possibility of extension) Research Administrative Assistant to support a national research study. The project brings together child and adolescent mental health studies across Canada to generate a representative data set to examine genetic and environmental risk and resiliency factors. Requirements

  • High school graduation
  • Some additional training in a related field
  • A minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own
  • Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Healthcare administration or a related field
  • Previous experience working with budgets and/or financial reports is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and diverse stakeholders is essential.
  • Demonstrated communications skills (both oral and written) are required.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment
  • Able to meet deadlines while working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting documents
  • Obtaining signatures for agreements
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial reports to the granting agency
  • Maintaining project records
  • Coordinate sharing of information, meetings minutes, and other associated documents with national collaborators
  • Coordinate biological sample shipments
  • Coordinating in-person meetings
  • Support onboarding of new staff
