About The Position

The Pharmacokinetic Modeling and Simulation (PKMS) laboratory at UBC’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences is led by Dr. Anil Maharaj and focuses on optimizing the safe and effective use of drugs in underserved populations through modelling and simulation. This position will perform technical tasks that support Dr. Maharaj research objectives. Work typically involves the application of established scientific and computational techniques, with supervision and guidance provided as needed.

• High school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• MSc in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related field) preferred.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, multitasking and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the development of physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models for drugs that penetrate the central nervous system (CNS) by running models and assessing if outputs are appropriate.
• Work with PK-Sim® and MoBi® software platforms to participate in model development, simulation, and data analysis. Create graphs and tables from development models.
• Prepare and contribute to scientific manuscripts and research reports for publication. Format manuscripts and prepare figures and tables
• Maintain research-related records and datasets, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility of model inputs and outputs.
• Carry out other related duties as required.
