About The Position

The College of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, Research Assistant Scientist. The University of Florida College of Dentistry (UFCD) is one of the leading dental schools in the United States devoted to improving and promoting oral health throughout Florida, the nation and worldwide through excellence in teaching, research, patient care and service. The Caudle lab is looking for a Research Assistant Scientist interested in conducting research on the neurobiology of pain. The ideal candidate has experience in whole cell voltage clamp techniques, transcriptomics, single neuron transcriptomics, and in running rodent behavioral assays. Experience with immunohistochemistry is also desirable. The candidate is expected to demonstrate strong knowledge and skills in the neurobiology of pain, and have at least five years of experience in the field. The University of Florida, a member of the AAU, is the largest and most comprehensive public university in the state of Florida, with large undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate educational programs. The UF Health Science Center and its six colleges (Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and Health Professions, Veterinary Medicine) are co-located on the Gainesville campus, with additional teaching, research, and patient care sites across Florida, and internationally.

Requirements

Ph.D. (or an equivalent degree) in neurobiology, cell biology, or in any related field.
At least five years of experience in the field of neurobiology of pain.
Strong knowledge and skills in the neurobiology of pain.
