The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a candidate for a full-time non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor position in the Division of Neonatology. This role aims to expand its clinical research program by providing essential support to neonatal genomics/multiomics and genetics of rare diseases in children, and to enhance the department’s overall core mission in furthering child health research. The incumbent will devote 100% effort to basic science research focused on the development of basic science research foci, including novel gene discovery by reanalysis of undiagnosed rare diseases and evaluation of the underlying mechanisms of rarer diseases using patient-derived cells and animal models. The role involves integrating novel omics (including genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics, phosphoproteomics, and interactome) in combination with traditional techniques to decipher the underlying mechanisms of various rare diseases.
