Research Assistant Professor

University of Pittsburgh•Pittsburgh, PA

About The Position

The Department of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh is hiring a Research Assistant Professor to support collaborative basic and translational research programs at the McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine (MIRM). The research focuses on applying advanced imaging technologies to regenerative medicine, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and wound healing. The faculty member will use pre-clinical rodent models and advanced imaging, including MRI/DTI-based tractography and differential tractography dMRI, to study brain function and detect diabetic neuropathy as a function of aging. This is a supporting role involving collaboration with interdisciplinary scientists to build translational research programs. Regular teaching or service responsibilities outside the research group are not expected. The successful candidate will support grant submissions and submit grants as a principal investigator. The university offers a competitive academic salary, fringe benefits, and state-of-the-art facilities.
