About The Position

Assist in the care of patients and research study participants by performing portions of the patient exam and a variety of preliminary tests according to physician orders and nature of the patient visit.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Knowledge of proper, safe and efficient use of medical and office equipment
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with physicians and staff
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced medical facility while adhering to HIPAA compliance regulations
  • Strong aptitude with computer software and typing skills
  • Understanding of medical terminology and basic anatomy of the eye
  • Ability to convey a positive attitude and be able to work well independently

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a medical office desirable

Responsibilities

  • Conducts standardized visual acuity testing for research participants following study-specific protocols
  • Escort patients to and from exam areas (may be required to assist patients with walking, pushing wheelchairs)
  • Complete and accurately document necessary testing, patient’s health history, and medications
  • Provide patient information concerning their eye care
  • Communicate with physicians to ensure patient satisfaction
  • Perform other duties as assigned
