About The Position

The Integrated Genomics Operation (IGO) enables basic and translational research projects across the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. IGO implements the MSK mission to cure cancer by providing a broad range of genomic services and expertise to our world-class research scientists. We are a high throughput core facility producing >100TB of data per year across >40 applications including “fourth generation” genomics technologies such as single cell and spatial transcriptomics. Role Overview: Communication & Support: Effectively communicate the services and deliverables provided by IGO to MSK scientists. Assist investigators with questions about our platforms, sample submission, and appropriate genomics assays for their research. Sample Management: Understand and manage sample accessioning into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Maintain a LEAN storage system for samples and ensure proper tracking and documentation. Project Coordination: Proactively monitor the progress of samples, ensuring that deadlines are met. Coordinate with various teams within IGO to support sample submission and manage project workflows. Problem-Solving: Tackle complex issues related to sample or process assignments and resolve challenges effectively. Handle unusual or first-time problems with samples and processes. Data & Information Management: Effectively use established tools for tracking and data management. Help to develop and implement new tools as needed by the team. Nucleic Acid Quality Control: Operate liquid handlers and robotic instrument for high throughput processing to perform quality assurance and control of DNA and RNA. Compile QC reports to be shared with stakeholders.
