About The Position
The Morgan lab seeks a highly motivated individual to join The Eugene Bell Center for Regenerative Biology and Tissue Engineering as a full-time Research Assistant I. The successful candidate will work on the neurobiology of Parkinson’s disease and also provide general lab support.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree (B.S. or B.A.)
- Significant background and coursework in Neuroscience, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Physics, or other related topics
- Strong analytical and computer skills
- Knowledge of standard laboratory practices
- Familiarity with general laboratory equipment
- Ability to work independently
Nice To Haves
- Experience with the lamprey model
- Microdissections
- Confocal imaging
- Statistics
- Image analysis software
- Coding
- Prior experience working with fish or other aquatic species
Responsibilities
- Confocal and other light microscopy techniques
- Basic biochemistry
- Electron microscopy
- Some electrophysiology
- Lead a research project
- Assist the PI and other lab personnel with experiments
- Performing data analysis
- Lab maintenance
- Minor administrative tasks
