This Research Assistant I position is based in Dr. Eisenhoffer's lab and is primarily responsible to perform technical laboratory duties and carry out projects in accordance with our specific research. The primary goal of our research is to understand the mechanisms regulating epithelial tissue homeostasis and how disruptions promote pathogenesis and cancer using zebrafish and cultured cells. We use time-lapse confocal microscopy coupled with various genetic approaches to identify molecular components regulating epithelial cellular processes such as cell detachment, migration and proliferation. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree Natural Science or Applied Science in a research-related discipline with preferences of Master's degree in Natural Science, Applied Science, or a related field. One year of previous research laboratory experience involving cell biology and genetics is preferred. Experience working with zebrafish is a plus but not required. Candidates with demonstrated employment stability and a strong interest in research are highly preferred. The typical work schedule is Onsite.
