About The Position

A research assistant will participate in a translational autism research project supported by the Department of Defense. This project aims to assess the efficacy of peptides as a new drug for autism, particularly in neuronal morphology and neural circuits during brain development. A research assistant provides support to postdoctoral researchers and graduate students by preparing reagents, performing basic experiments and data analysis, preparing manuscripts and figures, and maintaining animal colonies. This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Ability to follow experimental protocols and reagent preparation recipes precisely
  • Excellent communication skills with other lab members and the principal investigator
  • Outstanding oral and written skills in English

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in cell cultures, microscopies, animal (mice) handling, and general molecular biological experiments.
