About The Position

The Department of Physics at McGill University is seeking a Research Assistant 1 to conduct experiments in the cryostat following established procedures, analyze and interpret data, and assist with the dissemination of experimental results for the light-only liquid xenon (LoLX) experiment. This is a full-time position with a salary of $29.87 per hour.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in physics or a closely related field at the time of appointment
• Two years of relevant experience which could include student experience
• Problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to adapt to an evolving work environment
• Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and applications quickly and independently
• Time management skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
• Organizational, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Authorized to work in Canada
• Willing to work in the province of Quebec
• English communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Nice To Haves

• Background in experimental nuclear or particle physics
