The Mayor’s Office of Research and Media Analysis is responsible for monitoring media coverage related to the city’s policies and operations, and performing research in support of the administration’s broader communications priorities. This role will support press and communications operations with research needs, produce mayoral transcripts, media vetting, and newsletters. The analyst will also conduct fact-checking and rapid-response research, including for mayoral speeches and responses to breaking news. Additionally, the role involves monitoring and leveraging external research such as polling, academic literature, think-tank reports, media coverage, and external datasets to enhance the administration's understanding of New York City. The analyst will monitor news sites and social media in real time, disseminate breaking stories, and undertake additional research projects to support short- and long-term communications needs.
