About The Position

Responsible for providing science-based solutions to customers to facilitate and sustain positive change within their organizations. This includes collaborating with customers to assess, inform, and recommend improvements to their processes, products, and practices. The Research and Evaluation Specialist will initiate, develop, and manage applied research and program evaluation projects, develop and implement evaluation-related activities including collecting, managing and analyzing data, and collaborate with team members to generate new insights and understanding of customer program performance based on data and statistical methods. The role involves analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to assess trends and develop actionable insights and recommendations for management teams at customer sites, via understanding of the business model along with explanatory and predictive modeling. Findings will be communicated through reports and presentations meant to inform customers’ processes and decisions and contribute to the field of safety culture, organizational leadership, and/or industrial psychology through journal publications and presentations at professional conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Psychology, Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Behavioral Science, Organizational Leadership, or related field and 8 years of directly related experience.
  • Ability to understand scientific research procedures, standards, and terminology as they apply to statistical analysis, STEM workforce evaluation, worker health programs, and qualitative research.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and adapt to changing policies, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with SPSS or SAS statistical software applications
  • Proficiency with RStudio
  • Proficiency with Quantitative and Qualitative research methods
  • Proficiency with Scientific writing

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree and 6 years of directly related experience preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience performing duties as described may be substituted for the minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expert – Leads evaluation activities. Develops evaluation designs, criteria, plans, instruments and tools, facilitate IRB and clearances, collect and analyze data, and conducts needs assessments to evaluate end-user needs.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of modeling and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, industrial psychology, and other disciplines to design and administer surveys to support assessment and evaluation work.
  • Manage large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager.
  • Coach, review and delegate work to lower-level professionals.
  • Lead qualitative data collection and analysis activities, to include focus groups and one-on-one interviews.
  • Report evaluation outcomes and results to databases, customers, and stakeholders.
