About The Position

This clinical research position is within the Cancer Rehabilitation and Survivorship Program at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. We are currently seeking a full-time Research Analyst to manage the study tasks for a duration of 2 years. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an extremely organized, highly motivated, and hard-working individual with strong organizational skills who will enjoy the challenge of working independently and within an interdisciplinary research team. The Research Analyst will work under the general direction of the Principal Investigator and the Clinical Research Coordinator and tasks will involve assisting with the development and maintenance of the study database; subject recruitment and tracking; questionnaire administration and data collection.

Requirements

  • At minimum, completion of a Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or science required
  • At minimum, one (1) year of related and practical experience required
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated, with an ability to work well independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Previous experience using data management (e.g., Microsoft Office Access, Excel) required
  • Previous experience working on grant and ethics applications required

Nice To Haves

  • Research-related Master's degree strongly preferred
  • Three (3) years experience preferred (e.g., study coordination experience; database design/set-up; data collection/management; questionnaire administration; data entry; literature searches, etc.)
  • Previous experience working in cancer-related research and/or with medically ill patients would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • study coordination
  • recruitment and tracking of study participants
  • study-related administrative tasks (e.g., create standard operating procedures; manage study document binders; organize questionnaire packages)
  • database design, set-up and maintenance (e.g., using Microsoft Office Access, Excel)
  • Data entry, coding, scoring and statistical analysis of data (under the supervision of the PIs and a statistical consultant)
  • literature searches, and maintenance of a reference database (e.g., using Reference Manager, Endnote, or other software)
  • regular attendance at research team meetings
  • regular updates of study progress and preparation of study reports
  • participation in group planning of new research initiatives including grant and ethics applications
  • completion of other tasks as assigned or requested
