About The Position

Arbor Research is seeking a Research Analyst I (Mixed Methods) to join their team. This role involves working closely with scientific investigators and analysts to conduct mixed methods research and evaluation, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. The analyst will be responsible for primary qualitative data collection, coding and analyzing qualitative data, conducting statistical analyses of secondary data, designing and administering surveys, and synthesizing existing information on health and healthcare topics. The position also includes participating in stakeholder engagement, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, assisting with reports and manuscripts, attending meetings, and contributing to research proposals.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in public health or related field such medical anthropology, epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, public policy, social work, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 1-year professional qualitative experience and/or coursework
  • Experience conducting qualitative research and using qualitative software such as MAXQDA, Dedoose, or NVivo
  • Experience conducting statistical analysis and familiarity with statistical software such as R, Stata, SAS
  • Experience developing and executing surveys using a survey software program such as Qualtrics or Alchemer
  • Professional oral/written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must possess and maintain proper documentation in order to undergo commercial airfare travel such as Real ID or United States Passport or Passport Card, or another acceptable form of documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with scientific investigators and analysts to carry out mixed methods of research and evaluation approaches that combine qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Conduct qualitative primary data collection, including semi-structured interviews and focus groups (typically virtual) with patients, health care providers, and other health care stakeholders.
  • Code and analyze qualitative data in software programs such as MAXQDA, Dedoose, and NVivo.
  • Conduct statistical analyses of survey, administrative and other secondary data, including descriptive and subgroup analyses and comparisons of program outcomes, using software such as R, Stata or SAS.
  • Design, administer and analyze surveys, and assemble and maintain analytic datasets that link program records with external data sources to support ongoing monitoring and evaluation.
  • Gather and synthesize existing information on health and health care topics through environmental scans and literature reviews.
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement activities, such as listening sessions.
  • Work effectively on interdisciplinary teams with both internal staff and external partners including clinicians, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, qualitative researchers, health economists, project managers, programmers and others, as necessary.
  • Assist with and/or co-author reports, manuscripts, conference posters, and other written materials to disseminate research and evaluation findings.
  • Attend meetings, conference calls, and conferences, as needed.
  • Contribute to research proposals, when requested.
