About The Position
The student will aid in the development and commissioning of the N=126 Factory at the ATLAS facility on site at Argonne. The work will involve the design, assembly, and testing of various components of the N=126 Factory and participating in experiments to commission and extract the very first ion beams from the Factory. The N=126 Factory is a highly anticipated project within the nuclear physics community to provide isotopes that are hard to produce with any other facility in the world.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
- Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
- Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
- Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Candidates may be required to complete pre-employment drug testing based on appointment length.
- Must complete a satisfactory background check.
