About The Position

Alka Intelligence is an asset management startup developing a proprietary reasoning engine, Alka Arbiter, to automate fundamental analysis. This system ingests large, unstructured market datasets and converts them into clear, risk-weighted investment mandates. Unlike typical AI wrappers, Alka Arbiter is designed to be transparent, providing an auditable record of its decision-making process. The company is seeking individuals to help bridge the gap between stochastic AI models and the reliability needed for fiduciary capital management. This role is for those interested in pure research or research advisory, focusing on mapping the future direction of agentic AI rather than direct infrastructure building. Researchers and engineers at Alka collaborate, with researchers guiding the direction of engineering efforts. Alka is actively seeking academics, applied researchers, and senior advisors to identify upcoming paradigm shifts in agentic AI. Opportunities exist for both full-time research positions and part-time advisory roles.

Requirements

  • Expertise in pure research or research advisory.
  • Specialization in Ecosystem Intelligence, Agentic Ontology, or Systemic Risk & Assurance.
  • Ability to provide links to Google Scholar, GitHub, Substack, published papers, or open-source frameworks.
  • Ability to describe a recent moment where new research, a framework, or an experiment fundamentally changed your mental model about AI agents, including your previous assumption, what broke it, and how your thinking evolved (max 300 words).

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in a full-time research position.
  • Interest in a part-time advisory role.

Responsibilities

  • Track emergent orchestration frameworks and reasoning models before they hit the mainstream (Ecosystem Intelligence).
  • Design the cognitive logic, meta-prompts, and deterministic validation loops for autonomous agents (Agentic Ontology).
  • Break AI systems, identify hallucination vectors, and build fiduciary-grade guardrails (Systemic Risk & Assurance).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to guide infrastructure development.
  • Anticipate the next major paradigm shift in agentic AI.
