About The Position

The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) at The University of Texas at Austin serves as the central coordinating office for externally funded research and sponsored projects. Its mission is to support faculty and professional research staff in securing and managing external funding. OSP provides assistance with proposal review, authorization, and submission; award negotiations and acceptance; account management; close-out, reports, audits, and collections; professional development and education; export control; and research compliance. This role specifically supports the Proposal Team within the OSP, focusing on pre-award activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 1 year of experience with preparation and submission of sponsored project proposals or administration of project accounts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Success working in a team setting and independently in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to shift focus and work on competing priorities.
  • Professional Demeanor.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the OSP Operations Team to monitor and manage incoming proposal-related action items and Pre-Award messages.
  • Follow up on the status of outstanding actions in a timely manner.
  • Assist with document collection as instructed by Pre-Award Managers.
  • Input required data into UTRMS (UT Research Management System).
  • Save required documentation onto the OSP server.
  • Assist Pre-Award Managers with support as needed.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.
