About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Requirements Management Lead to join its team in Lynnwood, Washington. Under general direction, this role provides leadership and technical expertise in requirements management for rail and transit projects across the organization. It is responsible for identifying, capturing, and managing requirements for complex subsystems—including train control, signalling, communications, and power—to ensure they meet operational, safety, and regulatory standards. The role may serve as the lead technical authority or project manager for major requirements management initiatives and is expected to uphold engineering ethics and standards of conduct. The position leads multidisciplinary teams and oversees requirements plans, specifications, and verification and validation strategies for large-scale transit projects. It provides technical leadership in requirements elicitation, traceability, risk analysis, and change control in accordance with applicable industry standards. The role acts as the primary technical liaison with clients, regulatory agencies, and vendors; defines and organizes requirements-related project work; and ensures deliverables meet quality, safety, and performance standards. The role also develops risk and configuration management processes, reviews requirements documentation for accuracy and completeness, and may oversee site inspections and remedial design work. It keeps current with developments in requirements management and systems engineering and recommends improvements to engineering plans and programs. When serving as project manager, duties may include marketing, contract negotiation, budgeting, financial management, schedule coordination, and resource allocation. Work includes coordination, research, and problem solving on engineering projects with unique or controversial issues that may significantly affect major organizational programs. Assignments are framed by broad objectives and limits, and the position acts independently on technical matters. It supervises or coordinates with senior professionals and support staff, interfaces with technical and administrative leaders, and represents the organization in conferences with clients, prospective clients, and regulatory agencies. Project-site visits may be necessary.
