About The Position

Falconwood is a small woman-owned company providing consultation and programmatic support to Department of Defense Information Technology (IT) initiatives and programs. We provide expert advice and consultation on a diverse range of IT subjects, focusing on acquisition, policy, cybersecurity, engineering, and process development. The Requirements Analyst shall support Commander, Naval Inforamation Forces (Navifor) to translate business requirements into a functional development backlog and effectively act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical development teams, ensuring alignment of work delivery to the overall product strategy and customer value.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile, Scrum, or SAFe
  • Experience using project management software such as Jira
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines
  • Secret clearance
  • Four years’ experience in a related field

  • Track record of bridging the gap between mission stakeholders and data science teams to document use cases, data dependencies, and acceptance criteria for AI-enabled system integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
  • Extracts, analyzes, validates, and manages project requirements throughout the effort’s lifecycle.
  • Decomposes complex problems, identifies dependencies, resolves conflicts, and prioritizes needs.
  • Authors requirements such as epics and user stories, while adhering to best practices.
  • Communicates business needs to technical teams, facilitating requirements sessions, and implementing mediation and conflict resolution techniques to drive stakeholders to common understanding and agreement.
  • Identifies and escalates potential requirements gaps to senior project and customer leadership.
  • Conducts product demonstrations to project stakeholders.
  • Works as an integrated part of a cross-functional team such as working directly with developers and SMEs.
  • Conducts testing and maintain quality assurance of products.
  • Translates business requirements into a functional development backlog and effectively acts as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical development teams, ensuring alignment of work delivery to the overall product strategy and customer value.
  • Abstracts, synthesizes, and communicates complex requirements and adapts communication approach and style depending on the audience.
