About The Position

This position provides direct client assistance managing Social Security benefits in each beneficiary's best interest, along with information and referrals to other NeighborImpact programs throughout Central Oregon. The Representative Payee Advocate delivers Representative Payee services to clients as part of the Representative Payee Team, ensuring benefits are managed in accordance with Social Security Administration requirements and in the best interest of each beneficiary. This position also provides information and referrals to people seeking assistance from other NeighborImpact programs, represents NeighborImpact at selected community events and meetings, and is an essential part of the team working to advance the mission and demonstrate our core values.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3 years of experience in either Representative Payee, Social Services, Case Management, Financial Management, Social Security processes, or a related field, required.
  • 3 years of experience with data entry and data management required.
  • Ability to be certified in ORCHARDS (Oregon Criminal History and Abuse Records Data System)
  • Oregon Health Plan Assistor certification required within first year of employment
  • Intermediate computer skills required, including working knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of current auto insurance
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Satisfactory criminal background check
  • Satisfactory motor vehicle records check

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Bilingual language skills preferred
  • Knowledge of Social Security representative payee requirements, including basic beneficiary fund management rules and recordkeeping expectations, preferred
  • Traditional or Community Health Worker certification preferred
  • Knowledge of NeighborImpact programs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct client assistance managing Social Security benefits in each beneficiary's best interest.
  • Provides information and referrals to other NeighborImpact programs throughout Central Oregon.
  • Delivers Representative Payee services to clients as part of the Representative Payee Team, ensuring benefits are managed in accordance with Social Security Administration requirements and in the best interest of each beneficiary.
  • Represents NeighborImpact at selected community events and meetings.
  • Works as an essential part of the team advancing the mission and demonstrating core values.
