About The Position

This position supports the execution of leave of absence (LOA) management and provides technical and analytical leadership on projects. A key focus is identifying process improvement opportunities, optimizing centralized work, and measuring service delivery effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Tier II Support - Advanced computer skills related to HCM systems.
  • Must be highly competent in the use of Excel.
  • Microsoft Suite, Workday process knowledge, and SAP
  • This position will interact with and is expected to communicate results/recommendations, and secure buy-in across a broad range of users, stakeholders, and management.
  • Must have the ability to translate complex technical themes into business facing language.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • General working knowledge of key HR Benefit support practices and procedures including team member transactional activities & ServiceNow systems.
  • Experience with process documentation, identifying improvement opportunities and specific measurements to track performance post implementation.
  • Proven ability to manage projects within People Operations using the defined Tyson methodology.
  • Understands how to escalate & drive issues to resolution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and develop new processes; Must be detail-oriented and work well in a team environment.
  • Perseveres to locate necessary data and identify creative solutions to enable project completion.
  • Consistently delivers high-quality, timely work resulting in highly satisfied customers.

Responsibilities

  • Review, approve, and correct non-company leave requests, including: FMLA and Non-FMLA leaves managed by a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) Personal leaves Military leave Jury duty leave Bereavement leave
  • Initiate leave requests for seasonal and temporary layoffs.
  • Confirm leave balances and manage absences in accordance with company policy.
  • Run recurring reports for team members scheduled to return from LOA.
  • Enter Leave of Absence (LOA) and Short-Term Disability (STD) data.
  • Process STD payments.
  • Partner with the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) to address overdue leave cases.
  • Partner with HR and Nursing stakeholders to coordinate return-to-work and transitional work options.
  • Support team members returning from leave while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Review and process insurance premium payments for team members on unpaid LOA.
  • Conduct daily absence report audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Resolve absence management cases through ServiceNow while meeting established service level agreements (SLAs).
